What Lies Beneath
What’s not seen, spoken about? What’s hidden? What lies beneath? This series of work explores these questions.
I’ve used the elements of the environment in these pieces. I created an interface then left the outside elements to do the rest.
It’s the weather that changes my work – I leave it outside to get wet, dry in the sunshine, crack and expand. The cracks give us a glimpse into what’s underneath - significant aspects which cannot be seen on surface level.
Each painting has an unpredictable outcome which is precisely the beauty and excitement of it – it’s entirely out of my control.
